"Catholic" dissident to run for Chairman of Republican Party
Former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele, a so-called "Catholic" who falsely believes that a person can call himself pro-life and yet support a pro-choice candidate, had declared his candidacy to lead the National Republican Party. It can be expected that Pro-Life groups and conservative Catholics will quickly point out to him that it is a sin to support a pro-choice candidate and selecting him as National Party Chairman would be an insult to millions of orthodox Catholic Republicans.

Steele is probably the smartest pick a not very smart party could make.
Yes, he certainly doesn't pass the test the right wing has tried to impose on Catholics for Obama.
"Actually, He is a Very Nice Man"
You mean, even though he's pro-choice and looks creepy?

And what test is that?

Well?????
rustler, i cant believe you took that bait.
The Steele pick indicates the republican party feels the need to start living in the 21st century, especially if they ever want to win another presidential election.
The evangelical christian right minority is a dead end proposition as regards to the republicans being a viable, future oriented party!
take care, blessings
METH USER SAID: "Attempting to discuss anything with rustler is like trying to explain to a meth tweaker that there are no shadow people."
You know you should quit trying to explain to your less experienced meth buddies that you have actually seen shadow people.
My cop buddies tell that all meth users are queer. Is that true?
"Steele is probably the smartest pick a not very smart party could make."
Is he also a "1st generation out of the jungle" as well?
What would you do if you saw this man digging in your dumpster?
The only difference between the Democrats and Republicans is that once in a while the Republicans give conservatives a non-Marxist to vote for.

Sorry, I needed it. I was all out of stink bait.
You shoulda kept a closer eye on it, but what's a dunce to do?
All I can say to Rustler's homophobic snits is that I hope Giuliani is on the ticket with Palin in 2012!

Shaun, I am not afraid in the least of you. But I should be for my children's sake. Homos are always molesting children (i.e., the homopedophile coverup). You homos are trying to take over the world. You are an insult to women. They are the ones to be really afraid of you almost as much as the children.
I never have bothered a queer. I don't care about them. Why are you so concerned about me? I am normal. You're the pervert who needs help. NARTH.com can help you. That way you don't need to come in here flaunting your perversion.
I asked a question shaun. It wasn't a snit and you know it. Did you take it personal? Are you a methhead. If you took it personal you know that it's true on both counts. So now that we got that out of the way you can come out of the closet as both methhead and homo.
Did my cop buddies lie to me?
It ain't over.

Alan Keyes Files Suit in California Superior Court to Enforce the Consitution!
...Senator Barack H. Obama is a candidate for the Office of the President of the United States. However, to assume such office, Senator Obama must meet the qualifications specified for the Office of the President of the United States, which includes that he must be a "natural born" citizen.
Senator Obama has failed to demonstrate that he is a "natural born" citizen. There are other legal challenges before various state and federal courts regarding aspects of lost or dual citizenship concerning Senator Obama. Those challenges, in and of themselves, demonstrate Petitioners’ argument that reasonable doubt exists as to the eligibility of the Democratic Party’s nominee for President.
[What sort of individual hires three (or more) law firms to fight these lawsuits when all he has to do is show his Birth Certificate which would put an end to these legal actions? So much for "transparency." Prayers for Alan Keyes and his (& our) success!]MORE HERE
The Fat Lady didn't sing yet.
Seems like that photo of Rudy got Rustler so all a-twitter that he couldn't dare stop posting lest his hands become even momentarily idle.
Actually, it wasn't all for naught on R's part. His most recent flurry convinced me that I should do all I can to ensure a Palin-Keyes ticket come 2012! Sorry Rudy. Alan won't need so much for new outfits.
Rudy raised 50 million and got one !!! delegate lol. He's a RINO ie democrat and had no chance for the nomination, a total frickin' joke!
And Romney/Huckabee/Thompson canceled each other out which is why McZero got the nomination. There are no Reagan's on the horizon for the republicans. They should be in the wilderness for quite some time ...

Is this racist?
"Is he also a "1st generation out of the jungle" as well? What would you do if you saw this man digging in your dumpster?"
I am ashamed to even repeat that.
Do you feel you are more intelligent because of the color of your skin?
Seems like there has been a flurry of racist incidents and commentaries:

Lydia,
Rustler could not possibly be racist! I am shocked that you will think such a thing! He supports Alan Keyes (wink, wink). He only make innuendos therefore, you cannot call him a racist.
"It can be expected that Pro-Life groups and conservative Catholics will quickly point out to him that it is a sin to support a pro-choice candidate and selecting him as National Party Chairman would be an insult to millions of orthodox Catholic Republicans."
I am disappointed by the tone of the original post. What, I would like to know, is a "conservative Catholic?"
I am also progressively more and more irritated at the assumption that if someone thinks the legality of abortion contributes to abortion rates, etc. then that person must be a member of the Republican party.
I hate to break it to you, but there are no "millions of Catholic orthodox Republicans." It is manifestly true that many Republicans simply don't believe the principles in their party platform, or only believe them in a Sebastian Flyte "it's a lovely idea" sort of way.
Any aware Catholic voter knows this and has known it for some time. Politcally disenfranchised... yes, we are.
Kurt, you say you are pro-life, but I have a hard time reconciling this claim with some of your posts. Thus, a question:
Do you believe abortion is an intrinsic evil?
Do you believe abortion is an intrinsic evil?
yes, abortion, divorce, racism, unjust warfare, masturbation, lying, defrauding workers of just wages are all intrinsic evils.
Is this an attempt to be clever because it doesn't work. There are many pro-lifers that are concerned about his so-called pro-choice stance. http://www.lifenews.com/nat4586.html
On the other hand a spokesman for Mr. Steele states
"But Steele ran for lieutenant governor in 2002 and for the Senate in 2006 as a strong pro-lifer who supports overturning in the long term and politically achievable abortion restrictions in the short term while opposing taxpayer-funded embryonic stem-cell research. Steele, a devout Catholic, also opposes capital punishment.
"Look, here's the reality. Steele's critics have a huge task ahead of them if they're going to make the case that the guy is not pro-life enough. He's got the solid track record on the life issue. It's hard to argue against it."
So some pro-lifers are concerned because of his association with the RLC as indicating his "choice" views. Others say he is solidly pro-life.
Perhaps you can shed some light on the issue by giving us some facts that he indeed is pro-choice. I'm sure that the National Right to Life Committee would like to know so that they can raise the issue further.
Nice try to create an sense of hypocrisy when there is none. Speaking of hypocrites I'm glad to see that the "Change" we are waiting for is more of the Clinton era.
Do you believe abortion is an intrinsic evil?
yes, abortion, divorce, racism, unjust warfare, masturbation, lying, defrauding workers of just wages are all intrinsic evils.
How about artificial contraception, same sex marriage, embryonic stem cell research?

Is there a point to these lists? Are you doubting some of the earlier items?

I'm not sure what you mean. What earier items are you referring to? Also it seems it was you that made the list. The person asked if you felt that abortion was intrinsically evil. You answered yes and then provided a number of other issues. I'm just wondering why you stopped there and didn't include the items I asked about. So, you do or don't think artificial contraception, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem cell research are intrinsically evil?
because it is rather an endless lisiting if we are going to keep this up. If it is prelude to something else, let the shoe drop.

Not necessary, your non-answer tells me the answer.
