Catholic universities across the country have been the source of tremendous support for the Obama campaign. Not just their votes, but the time and energy they give to the campaign as volunteers, done with pride in their Catholic faith and school affiliation.
Of the three Catholic universities in Washington, DC, The Catholic University of America has long been considered the most Republican. Nevertheless, the current generation of young people there have shown great enthusiasm for the Obama-Biden campaign.
Yesterday, CUA students were over a third of a large group of Obama volunteers travelling to the critical battleground state of Virginia. Many of the students had volunteered before, travelling to Ohio, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.
These kids really help show us where the next generation is heading.

They sure do.
Catholic University is not a good example of a Catholic University.
"Catholic University is not a good example of a Catholic University."
No university would be a good example of a "Catholic" university unless their faculty and students toe-the-line with your personal political philosophy. We get it already. Give it a rest. You're not as important as you think you are, Your Eminence.
Being in the majority doesn't mean that you are right, but it sure helps win an election. Rustler and Mike Moehlenhof, McCain's Catholic Outreach Director, have dismissed almost all Catholic colleges as being 'inauthentic'. Even conservative places like CUA and Franciscan University of Stuebenville are now under question.
If Mike and Rustler are comforted that they have Catholic ideological purity in a few outposts while 95% of Catholic colleges are hotbeds of Obamania, I too am comforted.
VICTORY!!!!!!!
If you're voting for Obama - you're not Catholic...it's fine to vote for him, if that's what you feel you must do, but please don't call yourself a Catholic - it's embarrassing for those of us who are to be associated with you.
Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for offering your opinion. Unfortunately, we are not able to honor your request.
With every best wish,
Sean
SEAN WHINES: "Thank you for offering your opinion. Unfortunately, we are not able to honor your request."
Of course not. As a robotized Marxist Democrat you are programmed to vote against "your faith."
KATHERINE SAID: "Conservatives are trying to redefine Catholicism as only what is present at a small and narrow number of schools (FUS, Christendom College, etc.)."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
That's really classic Katherine. Conservatives are "redefining" Catholicism!!!!
You just don't grasp conservatism do you. By definition conservatism doesn't redefine things. That's for the Marxists. Those schools are conservative because the believe in the true faith of Catholicism not the other way around. Are you so wacko that you think that refusing to give communion to a heretic is "redefining" Catholicism? You Katherine don't know what Catholicism is.
KATHERINE ACCURATELY SAID: "McCain's Catholic outreach director dimisses 90% of Catholic colleges as inauthentic."
And the Cardinal Newman Society agrees with that and lists only 21 schools as authentically Catholic. Those of us who believe the Catholic Church is the one true faith and that it does not teach that you can believe things that contradict the Teaching Magisterium know how to find out which "Catholic" schools are wacko and which are not.
You would be very comfortable in any of those wacko schools.
You are so right, Rustler!
DEMO PONTIFICATES: "No university would be a good example of a "Catholic" university unless their faculty and students toe-the-line with your personal political philosophy."
Bingo Dumbo!!!!
And that's because my political philosophy is Catholic Teaching. I deviate not from it nor interpret it. You haven't grasped the concept yet. You think opinions mean something. You believe that you can disagree with the Church and still be Catholic. I don't interpret anything, I follow.
You need to get away from your infantile mindset that your opinion is important. Your lifestyle has overloaded you brain, which didn't take much.
Repeat after me.
A DISSIDENT IS NOT CATHOLIC.
A DISSIDENT IS NOT CATHOLIC.
A DISSIDENT IS NOT CATHOLIC.
dissident: disagreeing especially with an established religious system, or belief
Even Protestants know that.
Nope, it's not time for you to take off the Dunce's Hat. Go get back in your corner.
If you think victory includes Catholic colleges going the way of Marxism I feel sorry for you, Katherine. You should be mourning the loss of orthodoxy....as preached by the POPE...not conservatives.
KATHERINE: "If Mike and Rustler are comforted that they have Catholic ideological purity in a few outposts while 95% of Catholic colleges are hotbeds of Obamania, I too am comforted."
Enjoy your false sense of security.
So far the Cardinal Newman Society, McCain's campaign, Mike, Fr. Hardon, Fr. Corapi, ABishop Burke, ABishop Chaput AND on and on and on all agree with me. You Katherine have DemoCatholic and Nancy Pelosi on your side.
Sorrreeeeeee.
Cardinal Newman Society, -- Right Wing Hacks.
McCain's campaign, What a joke
ABishop Burke, racist
ABishop Chaput (R-CO)
What is this? A list of the John Birch Society at Prayer?
"WHINES"
You keep saying that, and you keep attributing that to Democrats. Fine. Except you keep doing it.
So... Republicans are whiners who project their whining onto Democrats.
Don't you think y'all should resolve your own internal emotional turmoil before you try to tackle someone else's?
If Catholics support Obama and his policies supporting the murder of children, they should not present themselves for Communion and seek the help of an orthodox spiritual director.
Catholics supporting murder or those who advocate it are in a state of sin.The would be receiving Communion sacrilegiously.....[someone correct me if I'm wrong.]
The principal disposition of soul required is freedom from at least mortal sin - (Canon 916 which concerns the duty of Catholics to practice honest self-examination so that they should receive Holy Communion in a state free from mortal sin) ,and ecclesiastical censure.
Canon 915,is concerned with the duty of the minister of the Sacrament to ensure that those who receive Holy Communion are properly disposed.
For those in a state of grievous sin confession is necessary. This is the proving oneself referred to by St. Paul (I Cor.,xi, 28). The only case in which one in grievous sin might dispense with confession and rest in content with perfect contrition, or perfect charity is when on one hand confession here and now is morally speaking impossible, and where, on the other a real necessity of communication exists.
Proper disposition for Holy Communion requires the communicant to be in a state of grace, that is, free from unrepentant mortal sin....this is all to respect the holiness of the Sacrament, to safeguard the salvation of the soul of the party presenting himself to receive Holy Communion, and to avoid scandal.
