While the pro life guy is giving an invocation, Obama's administration will be tearing down whatever pro life victories we might have seen over the last few years.

Thanks a lot, Catholics For Obama.

From today's Wall Street Journal:

By LAURA MECKLER

WASHINGTON -- The outgoing Bush administration this week will finalize a regulation establishing a "right of conscience" allowing medical staff to refuse to participate in any practice they object to on moral grounds, including abortion but possibly birth control and other health care as well.

In transition offices across town, officials in the incoming Obama administration have begun considering how and when to undo it.

The regulation is one of a swath of abortion and other reproductive-health issues under review by the Obama team, which is preparing to reverse a variety of Bush measures, according to officials close to the transition. The review is part of a sweeping scrutiny of Bush-era legislation and regulation on issues across the federal government, from environmental and labor rules to defense spending.

On abortion and related matters, action is expected early on executive, regulatory, budgetary and legislative fronts.

As long as Barack Hussein Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America everything else is gravy ie pomp and circumstance.

Did I mention Barack Hussein Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America! on Jan. 20, 2009. :)))

take care, blessings

Where's the freakin' change. He's putting in all of Clinton's former appointees.

Where's the change?

invocation not invovation - I believe you mean :)

The change is Barack Hussein Obama! He will be the Commander-in-Chief. As he has said repeatedly, he will be making all the decisions, "The buck stops here!" He will be the one to blame if one is not happy w/the direction of the country.

Re: Gays being upset w/Rick Warren giving the invocation.

Barack Obama in the Illinois Senate: Barack Obama was known as a liberal who was not afraid to build bridges across party lines during his term in the Illinois State Senate. He gained a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood for his support of family planning and abortion rights legislation.

Barack Obama and Gay Rights in Illinois: Barack Obama supported gay rights during his Illinois Senate tenure. He sponsored legislation in Illinois that would ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

Barack Obama in the United States Senate: Every two years the Human Rights Campaign, the largest national gay and lesbian organization, issues a scorecard for members of the Senate based on their sponsorship and voting on key issues of importance to gay and lesbian citizens. Barack Obama scored 89 out of 100% in the 2006 scorecard.

Barack Obama on Hate Crimes: Barack Obama co-sponsored legislation to expand federal hate crimes laws to include crimes perpetrated because of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Employment Non-Discrimination: Barack Obama supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and believes it should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell - Gays in the Military: Barack Obama believes we need to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military. His campaign literature says, "The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve."

Gay & Lesbian Adoption: Barack Obama believes gays and lesbians should have the same rights to adopt children as heterosexuals.

Barack Obama and Gay Marriage/ Civil Unions: Although Barack Obama has said that he supports civil unions, he is against gay marriage. In an interview with the Chicago Daily Tribune, Obama said, "I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

Barack Obama did vote against a Federal Marriage Amendment and opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996.

He said he would support civil unions between gay and lesbian couples, as well as letting individual states determine if marriage between gay and lesbian couples should be legalized.

"Giving them a set of basic rights would allow them to experience their relationship and live their lives in a way that doesn't cause discrimination," Obama said. "I think it is the right balance to strike in this society."

Sources: Chicago Daily Tribune, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force

Sooo like HRC and Rick Warren, Obama is against gay marriage and his position has been well known for quite some time.

Although imo, in about 20 years America's attitude will change on the gay marriage issue as a new generation of voters voices are heard.

Yes, Obama is a politician! surprise, surprise ie a pragmatist knowing if he had supported gay marriage, it would have been difficult for him to get the nomination and then be elected president.

Eliminating discrimination is a slow process, as we all know. Even after LBJ passed the Civil Rights legislation of 1964 and 1965, 40 years later, discrimination still exists in America against African-Americans ie human nature ie stupidity and fear. Changing hearts and minds can be a very slow process ...

take care, blessings

It is apparent to me that you are not pro-life. I accept that. But what I can't figure out is why you think you are Catholic?

Katherine said...

Because I am in communion with the Holy Father and the Archbishop of Washington.

Linda said...

It looks like you are looking for little bits of good to justify your support for this pro death man.
You cannot be in Communion with the Holy Father if you voted for a pro abortion candidate. He has been asked over and over again if it is acceptable to vote for a pro abotion legislator or president and the answer is clearly "NO". Period. Read the CCC.
I pray for your lost soul. My heart hurts for you and all those who are helping to carry out Obama's mission to kill babies.... 1/3 of whom are African Americans!

Katherine said...

You are gravely mistaken, Linda. Please take note of any public Mass the Holy Father celebrates. he does not ban people from communion because they vote their conscience.

That is because despite great hope at first, Benedict XVI has turned out to be a lib like so many others. He even invited Kennedy and Pelosi to take communion from him. Ratzinger has sold out. He even gave communion to the commie mayor of Naples.

Anonymous said...

Bob,
Did he INVITE Kennedy and Pelosi or did they just show up?

Anonymous said...

He INVITED them!! It is an outrage.

KENNEDY and PELOSI received special VIP invitations from the Pope, hand delivered to their congressional offices and seated up front so they could be given communion first (probably in case they wanted to leave early, like Judas!)

This is while loyal, pro-life Catholics (including my MOTHER) had to BEG for a ticket in the nose-bleed section for the papal Mass.

Ratzinger started off as a liberal, then got some sense, but sold out to the libs to become Pope.

It stinks.

While the pro-life clergyman is giving the invocation, the pro-abortion Obama team will be hard at work.
