OHIO CATHOLICS FAVOR OBAMA

Buckeye Catholics for Obama

by Mark Silk, Religion News Service

Like their co-religionists across the border in Pennsylvania, Catholics in Ohio have flipped from opposing Barack Obama four years ago to supporting him today. According to the latest poll by the Columbus Dispatch, they now back him over Mitt Romney by four percentage points, 49-45. In 2008, they ended up favoring John McCain by five points.

That's a telling switch, because Ohio Catholics have a distinctly conservative streak. They are less likely to be unionized than Catholics in Michigan (who preferred Obama over McCain 52-46), and a disproportionately large number trace their ethnic origins to Germany. On social issues, German Catholics skew to the right.

So once again we need to conjure with the ineffectuality of the Catholic bishops' campaign to paint the Obama administration as an enemy of religion in general and Catholicism in particular...

Cut the dishonest push polls. Mitt Romney's church may be known as Mormon, but its official name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, firmly rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mormons have the right to believe whatever they want and their religious beliefs should be treated with all due tolerance. But can you tell me where in the "gospel of Jesus Christ" is it stated that multiple Gods exist with each having their own universe? Finally, if the results turn out to be as the polls predict, will you admit that you were wrong?

Ha ha ha Dream On Romney will take Ohio by 2-3 percentage points. Obama doesn't like America and is a race baiter. Catholics who rarely go to mass may vote for the Bamster, but devout mass going Catholics will overwhelmingly vote for Romney who is pro jobs, pro energy, pro middle class, pro life pro national security and pro first amendment. Obama's job as president has been dismal. lAnd why did this administration refuse to supply security for our ambassador to Libya when there were numerous threats to his life??? And what about "fast and furious"???? Lie after lie after lie after lie comes out of Obama's mouth-----------non stop. How much is the obama campaign paying you guys ?

SRS,

"pro-energy" is Republican speak for supporting Mercury abortions.

You just destroyed your pro-life credibility.

Mercury???? What about all those "green" lightbulbs that will fill landfills and pollute groundwater? You guys cannot be truly catholic and support this "enemy of the church" we call Obama. He uses religion when it suits him including having useful idiots and psuedo-catholics like nuns on the bus in order to say, "heh, look at me, Catholics really like me". Most orthodox and practicing Catholics are totally grossed out by this America hating marxist.

The evolving president is pushing against Catholic teaching at every turn. The evidence of the conjured up war on women (free abortion, free birth control) and the HHS issue are just two reasons to pull the lever for Romney.

oNE other thing. Being pro-energy is being for the poor. Obama's policies have astronomically increased the price of fuel and power. My family keeps cutting back and the cost of power goes up and up due to out of control epa policies. Soon the poor will not have heat or gas for their cars. We have heating oil and I don't know how we will be able to afford 3.50--4.00 dollar oil. Our winters are very cold. We can go days in -20F temps. But Obama only thinks about himself and having power over the rest of us little people. More American production of energy is good for our national security and most importantly AFFORDABLE energy which brings the standard of living up for everyone Is the most important. Affordable energy would help increase domestic production of goods which would mean more jobs, if this administration would take their boots off the necks of business.

Romney's energy policies = abortions. And the right wing doesn't care.

SRS said...

How does ones energy policies have to do with abortion? I used to say, "what does this discussion have to do with the price of tea in China?

SRS said...

Obama to most pro-abortion president ever in the history of this nation. In the dem party, abortion is a sacrament and second is gay marriage.

SRS is delusional and then some thinking a majority of Catholics will vote for Rmoney. All indications are that an even greater percentage will vote to re-elect the president this time around. Refuse to supply security to his own ambassador? That's the worst nonsense of all. And it's funny how "the little guy" defends the rich oil company executives and blames EPA for higher energy prices. Rmoney wants to rip social safety nets apart, but Obama is widening the racial divide? That takes the cake.

ANY CATHOLIC VOTING FOR OBAMA MUST CONSIDER THAT HE FAVORS PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION, WHICH IS OUTRIGHT MURDER OF INFANTS. HIS CAMP SUPPORTS THE OUTRAGEOUS IDEA OF
ABORTING CHILDREN UP TO THE AGE OF 3 YEARS OLD, SAYING THEY ARE NOT YET VIABLE HUMAN BEINGS. ALL CATHOLICS SUPPORTING THIS MAN ARE PUTTING THEMSELVES IN DANGER OF HELL.

Katherine said...

SRS,

The Republican Party takes the view that a baby is less dead when killed by private enterprise.

Mercury put in the environment by energy companies cause more abortions than the number of surgical abortions in this country.

You can't be anti-abortion and support Romney's energy policies

"Aborting" children up to the age of three? Where did you get that idea? Seriously, you need to consider what will happen to your soul if you remain insistent on bearing false witness. Also consider that there is a difference between favoring or choosing an abortion and supporting abortion rights. Don't try to claim you haven't been so informed when you meet your maker.

This article deals with Republican efforts to thwart mercury restriction:

Your theory seems to be suffering a bit. Catholics are being challenged to pay attention, dig deep for information, challenge their own positions and see if they are really being true to their faith. So here is some more for all of you to think about. Katherine - If the EPA mercury ruling it what you are referencing perhaps some additional research will help. Here is a good place to start. By the way this ruling is why Ohio has record high energy costs and a high number of coal plants being closed. http://energy.nationaljournal.com/2011/12/sizing-up-epas-mercury-rules.php

Anonymous please see C-Span and watch the Bengazi/Libya Congressional hearings. A very enlightening event that should leave you asking how in the world could this have been allowed to happen?

Pennsylvania Pole, I would encourage you to research Ezekial Emanuel (he is an Obama health advisor). You should focus on his "Complete Lives System" for a starter. Here are a couple of sights to get you started;

Too Old,

Are you suggesting that gas prices should be more important to Catholics than the lives of the unborn?
